4 Trees Converted From "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1" Made Seasons Compatible.
I really love these trees. They are probably the best meshed trees from other games that I've found. They are impressive in size, but fairly low in poly count so they should do fine even on older computers or with older video cards and they look great in the game. The first time I saw Yolartut's conversion, I knew I wanted to make them Seasons Compatible.
There were a few issues with the original trees that I fixed:
- The original trees had the foliage textures applied only to the front side of each polygon so when viewed from the back, the polygon was invisible. I fixed this so the textures are applied to both sides making the trees look fuller and more lush from all viewing angles.
- All the original trees were on 1 tile which is fine for trees 2 and 3 which have a trunk that will fit on one tile. However trees 1 and 4 have large trunks and Sims could walk through parts of them. I fixed this by giving those 2 trees a 9-tile footprint thereby preventing Sims from walking through the trunks.
- I thought the original summer foliage texture was too dark so I edited it to make it a bit brighter.
Tree1 - 1803 faces on 9 tiles (200 faces/tile...very low poly)
Tree2 - 1294 faces
Tree3 - 1803 faces
Tree4 - 1294 faces on 9 tiles (144 faces/tile...very low poly)
All trees appear in the catalog under Gardening/Trees
Tree1 - 400 Simoleons
Tree2 - 350 Simoleons
Tree3 - 350 Simoleons
Tree4 - 400 Simoleons

The London Trees will correctly change with the seasons and drop leaves in the fall. The changing-of-leaves only works if the Seasons EP is installed. It can also be used without the Seasons EP, but only the summer state will appear.
The trees are based on my own template which has 2 subsets, 4 seasonal changes, and leaves that drop in the fall.
Credits to EA Bright Light and Electronics Arts for the original mesh and textures.
Mesh converted to TS2 by Yolartut .
Additional seasonal meshes and textures by Raynuss.
The trees all retain their original GUIDs assigned by Yolartut and will replace the originals in the game and on any lots where you may have used the originals. However I've changed the file names to differentiate my seasons compatible files from Yolartut's non-seasonal files. You cannot use both versions in the game. If you want to use my seasonal versions, you must remove Yolartut's non-seasonal versions.
Tested in a vanilla game with all expansions plus M&G.
Files are compressed.
The lot in the Header Picture is The Bull and Boar Tavern in my Medieval hood, Gaelrych. Many Sim-Peasant or Nobleman has tipped too many tankards of mead there and had to be escorted to the door at the end of the night. The Tavern-Keeper lives upstairs and keeps a watchful eye on the more rowdy patrons.
