Home Comfort System Addons

An Addon Set to Compliment my Home Comfort Set.

 The Addons consist of:

*Air Conditioner Compressor Unit
*Air Conditioner Air Handler Unit
*Air Handler Outlet Duct
*12 Ton Commercial Rooftop Air Conditioner with Animated fans
*5 Ton Commercial Rooftop Air Conditioner with Animated Fan
*Functional Thru-The-Wall Air Conditioner with Animated Fan
*Functional Classic and Baseboard Radiators
*Three Functional Heating and/or Cooling Air Vents.

The Functional Air Conditioner and Functional Wall AC Vent will restore overheated Sims to a comfortable temperature.  The change will be even faster if they choose the  "Cool Off" option from the vent's menu (only available if the Sim needs to  cool down).

The Functional Wall Heating Vent will likewise restore cold Sims to a comfortable temperature.  They can choose the "Warm Up" option from the menu.

The Functional Floor Heating/Cooling Vent has the ability to restore both overheated and cold Sims to a comfortable temperature.

Sims will walk to the functional object and will perform animations to "Warm Up" or "Cool Off" depending on the object they're interacting with as shown in the following in-game shots:

Mesh Statistics:

Air Conditioner Compressor: 856 faces, appears in the catalog under Appliances/Miscellaneous for 1025 Simoleons.  Recolorable, includes 23 recolors.

Air Handler:  1174 faces, appears in the catalog under Appliances/Miscellaneous for 496 Simoleons.  Recolorable, includes 23 recolors of the Base Unit.  The Outlet Duct is slaved to the Maxis Vims Ventillation Wall System. Requires AL EP.

Air Handler Outlet Duct:  64 faces, appears in the catalog under  Build Mode/Architecture for 40 Simoleons.  Slaved to the Maxis Vims Ventillation Wall System. Requires AL EP.

12 Ton Rooftop Unit:  1122 faces on 8 Tiles, appears in the catalog under Appliances/Miscellaneous for 2050 Simoleons.  Recolorable, includes 23 recolors.  This is the Master  file for the 5-Ton Rooftop Unit.

5 Ton Rooftop Unit:  922 faces on 6 Tiles, appears in the catalog under Appliances/Miscellaneous for 1090 Simoleons.  Recolorable, slaved to the 12 Ton Rooftop Unit.

Thru-The-Wall Air Conditioner:  436 faces, appears in the catalog under Appliances/Miscellaneous for 100 Simoleons.  Recolorable, includes 3 recolors.

Classic Radiator:  1516 faces, appears in the catalog under Plumbing/Miscellaneous for 200 Simoleons.  Recolorable, slaved to the Maxis "Gather Around" by Heated Exchange Radiator.

Baseboard Radiator:  360 faces, appears in the catalog under Appliances/Miscellaneous for 24 Simoleons.  Recolorable, slaved to the decorative Baseboard Radiator from the Home Comfort Set Part 1.

As  side note, the reason that I made a new object and slaved it to my non-functional baseboard radiator is because baseboard radiators are usually installed along walls in multiple units.  You only need one functional radiator to affect the Sim's  temperature so by slaving the functional to the non functional baseboard radiator, the two varieties will match in color and it will be less expensive.

Wall AC Vent:  66 faces, appears in the catalog under Appliances/Miscellaneous for 100 Simoleons.  Recolorable, includes 7 recolors.  This is the Master file for the Heating Wall Vent and the Floor Vent.

Wall Heating Vent:  66 faces, appears in the catalog under Appliances/Miscellaneous for 150 Simoleons.  Recolorable, slaved to the Wall AC Vent.

Floor Heating/Cooling Vent:  64 faces, appears in the catalog under Appliances/Miscellaneous for 100 Simoleons.  Recolorable, slaved to the Wall AC Vent.

The set includes 79 recolors as follows:

The Functional Wall AC Vent comes with 5 painted recolors...Ivory, Light, Medium, Dark and Cherry Maxis wood match, plus galvanized and rusted metal recolors.

The 12-Ton Rooftop Unit, the Air Handler Unit and the Central Air Compressor each come with 23 recolors consisting of 4 metal colors...the default gray, tan, graphite and steel blue.  Each metal color,in addition to the clean recolors, has 5 degrees of weathering from dingy advancing to the most weathered...grimy.

The Thru-The-Wall Air Conditioner has three recolors.  The default has a clean interior and a slightly weathered exterior.  The recolors are a completely clean recolor, a clean interior with a dirty exterior and the last is a dirty interior with a filthy exterior recolor.

Meshes are Base-Game compatible with the exception of the Air Handler Ductwork and the Air Handler Outlet Duct which both require Apartment Life.   Seasons EP or later is required for the Sims to experience cold or overheated temperatures and take advantage of the functional objects in the set.

All Meshes are my own except for the classic radiator which is a resized version of the Maxis "Gather Around" by Heated Exchange Radiator.  Textures are my own, created in PSP.

Tested in a vanilla game with all Expansions plus M&G.  Files are Compressed.

Credits:  Inge Jones for the original concept which I tore apart and put back together with my changes. :)

Enjoy,

Ray :)
